The pharmaceutical distribution cooperative has conducted the first measurement of the impact of its activity (carbon footprint) a task entrusted to the specialist Sustainability and Climate Change consultants, Ecoterrae, thereby reinforcing its leadership in the sector, all with the aim of advancing the company´s climate action roadmap towards carbon neutrality.
An energy diagnosis was conducted at each of the organisation’s facilities, located across almost the entire country, which has enabled us to identify the main sources of GHG emissions and to act accordingly with the utmost priority.
Our team has helped them to plan the implementation of measures designed to reduce GHG emissions, while optimising resources from an environmental point of view without reducing their activity in the field of pharmacy.
We do this by designing and developing a Plan to Reduce and Offset Emissions that enables the organisation to reduce its impact on global warming in the coming years.
All the effort put into measuring the company´s carbon footprint has been rewarded thanks to this project (also verified by an external entity), as Bidafarma has been awarded the official certificate of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), and is now a member of the select group of companies committed to the fight against climate change in Spain.
